چکیده

Purpose. To evaluate heterosis in new F1 hybrids and to select the best ones with greatest dominance for "growing period length", "yield", "marketability" "mean marketable fruit weight" traits further use breeding heterosis. Object. Twenty-seven watermelon 22 parents. Methods. General scientific, measuring weighing, computational statistical. Results. their parents were screened following characteristics: lengths of interphase periods, total yield, marketability, mean weight. Analysis growing its parts showed that "emergence - ripening" ranged 71 80 days 2021 60 84 2022. The variation limits from 6 24 days. "anthesis male flowers anthesis female flowers" – setting" most stable periods across years both Eleven classed as ultra-early, did not last longer than 63 2022 or 72 2021. On average study years, amplitude (Am) "total yield" trait was 30.9 t/ha; “marketability” 16%; 2.9 kg. In parents, Am 43.1 t/ha, 20% 2.8 kg ‘total yield’, ‘marketability” traits, respectively. (Lim) "yield" wider those hybrids. opposite, "% check accession" 10 hybrids, which significantly superior hybrid, ‘Kazka’, (130-166% hybrid), are practical value. allowed us combinations yield (hp=0.39-3.94; X=101-136), marketability (hp=0.11-7.00; X=101-106) weight (hp=0.26-99.00; X=100-164). Based on high indicators heterosis, selected breeding; they also noticeable a set economically valuable early ripening, evenness, resistance biotic factors, etc. Fruits attractive appearance have excellent palatability. create competitive first-generation Conclusions. determined. ultra-early selected. Hormone-regulated defense and stress response networks contribute to heterosis in Arabidopsis F1 hybrids.

Plant hybrids are extensively used in agriculture to deliver increases in yields, yet the molecular basis of their superior performance (heterosis) is not well understood. Our transcriptome analysis of a number of Arabidopsis F1 hybrids identified changes to defense and stress response gene expression consistent with a reduction in basal defense levels. Given the reported antagonism between pla...

Expression of Heterosis for Productive Traits in F1 Brinjal (Solanum melongena L.) Hybrids

The study was carried out to estimate magnitude of heterosis over better parent and standard check for some important characters in 15 crosses resulting from a half diallel mating design of 6 inbred lines of brinjal. Hybrid variety ‘Tarapuri’ was used as standard check. The parents and the hybrids were evaluated at the farm of Olericulture Division, HRC, BARI, during the winter season of 2008-2...

Comparative transcriptome analysis of flower heterosis in two soybean F1 hybrids by RNA-seq

Heterosis has been widely exploited as an approach to enhance crop traits during breeding. However, its underlying molecular genetic mechanisms remain unclear. Recent advances in RNA sequencing technology (RNA-seq) have provided an opportunity to conduct transcriptome profiling for heterosis studies. We used RNA-seq to analyze the flower transcriptomes of two F1 hybrid soybeans (HYBSOY-1 and HY...

Dominance, overdominance and epistasis condition the heterosis in two heterotic rice hybrids.

Two recombinant inbred (RI) populations having 194 and 222 lines each, derived, respectively, from a highly heterotic inter- (IJ) and intrasubspecific (II) hybrid, were backcrossed to their respective parents. The RI and two backcross populations along with F1 and its two parents of each hybrid were evaluated for nine important traits, including grain yield and eight other yield-related traits....

Heterosis Decreasing in Hybrids--Yield Test Inbreds

U.S. corn production was 53 million Mg annually and corn yield averaged 1518 kg ha in the 1930s, when corn hybrids were first commercially grown. Corn production grew to 76 million Mg annually in the 1950s, to 150 million Mg annually in the 1970s, and to 219 million Mg in the 1990s (USDA/NASS 2007). In 2001 corn became the highest tonnage cereal crop worldwide: 557.6 million Mg of corn, 542.4 m...
